I'm not really "new" I've been a member for a long time, but I finally have my first turbo buick. I haven't had a fast car since I sold my turbo mustang in 2005. I've been compiling fabrication and machine shop equipment since and my shop is now well equiped. Lately I've been itching for another project. My first fast car was a 72 Buick skylark/GS and I've been fond of the buicks ever since, but I like new technology to go with it. So, the GN's and t-types are right up my alley.
The car is a 1986 Buick T-type WH1 designer series car. I've know the last three owners of the car and I've been trying to buy it for years, but it never went through until now. Except for the engine and trans it's all there. The motor is still around in pieces, but the block is junk. It obviously needs work, but that's what I was looking for. I like building cars more than I like racing or cruising them, so a project car is my idea of fun. The lack of an engine and trans is almost a plus because I can build what I want from scratch.
The paint is rough but still there (ie: no rust). It has a gash in the pasenger door, but a mint door is included. It needs bumper fillers. The interior is all there and in ok shape. The t-tops are leak free.
As of now, my plans are to turn it into a "g-machine" type car. It will still be buick turbo v6 powered. I think 500rwhp will be just about right and that's my goal for now. I've been searching here for a couple weeks and I've found a lot of inspiring pictures of members cars.
