I'm not really "new" I've been a member for a long time, but I finally have my first turbo buick. I haven't had a fast car since I sold my turbo mustang in 2005. I've been compiling fabrication and machine shop equipment since and my shop is now well equiped. Lately I've been itching for another project. My first fast car was a 72 Buick skylark/GS and I've been fond of the buicks ever since, but I like new technology to go with it. So, the GN's and t-types are right up my alley.

The car is a 1986 Buick T-type WH1 designer series car. I've know the last three owners of the car and I've been trying to buy it for years, but it never went through until now. Except for the engine and trans it's all there. The motor is still around in pieces, but the block is junk. It obviously needs work, but that's what I was looking for. I like building cars more than I like racing or cruising them, so a project car is my idea of fun. The lack of an engine and trans is almost a plus because I can build what I want from scratch.

The paint is rough but still there (ie: no rust). It has a gash in the pasenger door, but a mint door is included. It needs bumper fillers. The interior is all there and in ok shape. The t-tops are leak free.

As of now, my plans are to turn it into a "g-machine" type car. It will still be buick turbo v6 powered. I think 500rwhp will be just about right and that's my goal for now. I've been searching here for a couple weeks and I've found a lot of inspiring pictures of members cars.

Another TN member, Welcome to the board! If we can help at all please feel free to call..

I'm in Hendersonville, about 20 min. north of nashville. I've seen a couple GN's in Murfreesboro at the Stones river car shows, but I've never seen any T-types around, especially not another wh1. My car may not be running until 2015 :), but we can sure cruise them when I do get it going.

Do you or your friend have any reccomendations on who I should get to paint mine after the body work is done?

Here is the reason I haven't had a hot rod in a long time. Machining is my other hobby. All through college I worked part time in various performance shops as a machinist and fabricator. When I finally graduated and got a better job, I had money to build a fast car, but I no longer had access to machinery. So after selling my last car, I decided to buy machinery so I could build a car like I want to build it.

This is the machinist corner of the shop. Mill, lathe bandsaw, belt grinders, drill press, shop press and machinist tools.

And the welding/work table, tig welder, tool box and parts washer.

There is just barely enough room left for the buick. Now I don't have to rely on just "bolt-on" parts.

Welcome to the site, there is a great deal of info here. There are several turbo regal enthusiaists across the state line north of you. I'm in Bowling Green.

MeanMike I live in Nashville and would like to meet you. I have a 86 Ttype under construction and my father has a 87 we4 just painted but has to be assembled.

Hy I love the WH1s even thought of painting my GN like one but cant get my self to do it. We are starting to have a lot of TN guys show up now. Maybe its time to add a TN sction in Regional area. I love the machinist corner you have if I had that in my shop I would have all kinds of one off parts.

There will probably be a lot of one-off parts. I've got a build thread going here. I won't get into much fabrication until I get the car gutted and cleaned. Right now my plan is to build it to race TSM.
