hey now. md is good for gn's :) dont have to get them smogged anymore. 20years! historic!

Hey TTHorngen so that means I can remove or gut the cats out.... I see that you are in Silver Springs I am right up the road from you in Laurel

that would be illegal ;) but nobody would know
when you get tags for it be sure to get historic... unless you will be using this car as a daily driver. New law in maryland is cars 20 years and older can be historic. No need for smog... or inspection!
Im near burtonsville. Your very close indeed. We should meet up some time

I bought my T-Type from some dude in Md that didn't know what he had. Got the car for $4K. :D Good luck on your restoration and keep all of us posted.

That car looks to be in roughly the same shape as the one my buddy bought about 4 years ago. 86 GN 100% bone stock..apparently was left for dead because of a bad module. About 1 month after he bought it everything started breaking...wiring, MAF, Module, Transmission, and finally it lost oil pressure and cooked the turbo. We pulled the motor and had a local machine shop do a basic rebuild to stock spec..basically new rings, bearings, and gaskets. SO FAR..it still runs. He doesnt race it..just drives it. MAKE SURE you check out the oil and compression before something major goes wrong.

That car looks like it survived a nuclear war!!

Good Luck with it, and it's still a beautiful car!
Congats with your new car, and Welcome to the Club!

I want to be able to take long trips and still have ok gas mileage and I want to blow some ricers off the line too.

With any Turbo Regal I don't think this will be a problem....that's the beauty of these cars...it's luxury, style, speed and economy all in one car. That's why I became a Turbo Regal owner just a short 2 weeks ago. Welcome aboard.

Welcome man! Looks like you do have a rough start and a long road ahead but dont loose sight of your resto. I'm sure you'll make it shine like a new penny. You own one of the best performance vehicles ever made. All of us here have been where you are and we had to start somewhere. Feel free to ask away at anything, even the simple stuff. We're all glad to help. Welcome and enjoy your new GN

A&A Performance

I'd get that thing in good mechanical order first and then do the body and interior work. That thing would be pretty cool if it looked that way, but ran good. It looks like something from a mad max film
