So I was out earlier today with the family checking out some yard sales. Came across this survivor sitting forlorn in a front yard. When I got home I called the number and spoke to the owner who really didnt know much about these cars.
I go to look at the car and am pleasantly surprised that he has documentation going back 15 years when his dad bought it from the original owner. Car had been acid washed and repainted maaco style 7 years ago from a somewhat hideous chocolate brown to a two tone grey. However the original color still inhabits the door jams , trunk lid underside and rails, and hood "sides". Basically a closed car single spray. Oh well. Interior has a 10 year old pioneer head unit poorly installed. But it is also wired for the concert sound 2 system. Split power bench in a very soft but intact tan color. Probably matched the original color very well but clashes horribly with the two tone grey.
Only bit of rust on the car is above the passenger side sill. Oh and also on the cowl where the hot air turbo tends to vent the heat on the passenger side. Power windows need work as the drivers side is slow and creaky and the passenger is nonfunctional.
Runs a little rough as it has been sitting for a few months and could use a tune up and oil change. Tranny shifts fine thru all gears. No a single puff of smoke out the tailpipe.
She will be joining the stable later this week to the tune if $2000. Very excited new owner here.
