New motor, New Turbo?

Okay so I am picking up my motor this weekend from being built. It is being built to slightly above stock because this is going to be my daily driver for the most part. I have the stock turbo sitting at my shop and started thinking last night, do I really want to put that turbo back on and risk it going and taking my motor out. I need to buy a down pipe regardless and I found a turbo, downpipe, and boost controller kit from GN1 performance,

Any advice on if this would be a good idea or not. anybody buy this kit want to chime in. Would this be a good turbo to use on a stock setup. I do plan on getting a scanmaster ASAP and if its need ill get injectors to but like everyone else, budgets tight. Thanks for your help, any advice will work.

If you're on a budget and the turbos still tight, then continue to use it. When you get more $$ build around it first, then replace it. You need the diagnostic stuff 1st so start there and work into the power mods. Scanmaster, gauges, fuel system, those are top of the list.

What headgasket did you have installed and head bolts?

I'd consider the PTE 58/57 in the .63 if you're looking for an upgrade that fits the spool/power scenario later on.
