Went to the track yesterday for the first time this year and all I can say is there is some hope. The day started off disappointing due to the fact that I had driven 2hrs to the track and forgot my otc scanner to monitor my on board systems. Dang, how am I supposed to run to the max without it? Forget that I didn't drive 2hrs for nothin might as well run it in street trim and see what I could do. Okay I know the suspense is killing you! First run fresh off the trailer w' street tires r/t .537- 60' 2.130- 1/8 9.475@73.27 mph-1/4 14.8@91.66mph. Second run r/t .686-60' 2.066-1/8 9.344@73.33mph-1/4 14.723@91.05mph. I was like man all winter for this! So I debated on wether it was worth the risk to turn it up a notch, since my previous best was 14.00 I nor my son would settle for anything more. So I upped the boost 4lbs and wow!!! r/t .578- 60' 2.066- 1/8 8.822@80.54mph- 1/4 13.681@100.79mph. Needless to say that's all I was willing to chance it without my scanner, but 1.2 seconds and 120hp is not bad for a few turns of a screw. 12's here I come!! All hot air.

Basic mods, stock long block, ATR up/down pipes, Hooker cat back exh, TA-33, poston headers, lunati 200-200, afpr, stock ecm w/JL93 street chip.

 :D Great runs!!! How much boost were you running? I ran last night and could only muster out a 14.6@93mph 60ft at 2.285. that was on BFG 275/50/15 DRs w/25psi in them. I was running 40psi on the rail, with 18psi boost on 4:1 xylene and 92 pump. This was on a humid Hawaiian night w/about 86% humidity. I really gotta invest in a OTC scanner soon. I ran a friend's OTC on my last run and worst run of the night. we were fussing about not having to see TPS voltage and Vehicle speed. 15.3@92mph 60ft 2.785 :( I forgot what my O2's were but I had 13* KR. I guess some race gas and a heated o2 should notch that down a bit. I know I should be running faster with the mods I have. I'd be running faster if I were up on the mainland where the faster hot-airs are.

Re: New Times

Nick keep us posted good or bad on your results. Got mine on the trailer already, can't wait till tomorrow night, hopefully the weather will hold up and we'll see some good times looking for that illusive 12.999 also, he he and man I mean illusive.

Update!

Went back to the track today the weather was cloudy and threatening rain but it never showed, just windy as hell and wouldn't you know it 10mph gust right in your face seems like the odds are stacked against me. The gremlins of 12.999 are at it again. Anyways not to be discouraged I still got in some good runs with a new best.

1st run 2nd run
r/t ------.642 r/t -----.843
60' -----2.045 60' -----2.186
1/8 ----8.548* 1/8------8.964*
mph ---82.26 mph----81.61
1000' -11.119 1000'--11.544
1/4 ----13.332* 1/4-----13.719*
mph ---100.75 mph----103.91

All runs still on street tires 225-60-15's (gotta get some ET STREETS) tractions definantly a problem could not get one 60 below 2.0 but check out the mph on the last run (104) that definantly puts me in the high 12's. Had a couple of 101s-102s also. So I'm happy that I at least know I'm there with some traction. Also on my first run I was getting about 12* of KR on the big end and had to back off about 100 ft from the trap.

AWSOME times man! congrats on the the new times. hopefully your gremlins will leave in due time. for now, my gremlins are pitchin' a tent and they're gonna stay for a while.
