considering spending some money on an alky setup but I want the best been reading about the cooling mist kit and seems the controller is ok but the rest of the kit is cheap

thinking about buying just the cooling mist controller and then building the rest of the system myself--good idea or not ??

My only suggestion is to read the message boards and spend a few hours doing so. There is a wealth of information on the 3 Buick sites. And then proceed once you have your data from reading/researching. At least you will have spent time before spending money.

I cant/wont comment on a competitors product, that would be wrong. And there are a lot of other company's selling products similar. Like Devilsown, SMC, Snow, Mease, FJO, etc.

Set your goals, and figure out how to get there... make your calls... and decide how your going to proceed.

By the list of modifications in your sig.. you have quite an investment. And a lot less room for errors.

Good luck.

well I have been reading all the alky posts and still couldn't figure out which controller is the best bang for the buck, all I got from those posts was a headache-and the understanding that everyone wants to sell their own product--which I don't blame them, but dammit all the highschool drama gets old after awhile

was hoping there was a clear cut answer--from a majority of Buick drivers telling me ok get this 1 its better or get this 1 because it'll do the job and its $150 cheaper

thanks for any help though

TurboGTA,
I was in your shoes just a few weeks ago. I did my research and decided on an AlkyControl kit from Razor. It was a great decision. He has a kit taylor-made for our cars. His own car runs 10.55 on 93 octane pump gas with the alky spraying. So far, I've picked up from 8.55 to 8.23 through the 1/8th and 13.35 to 12.88 through the quarter with my AlkyControl kit. It's a quality kit at a reasonable price. ($500 for an easy 5 tenths is good economics to me.) His service and support is unbeatable! You can call him any time that you have a question.

Kevin thanks. Send me some .logs see where your at.

A point not mentioned, the kit was designed using what car? A Turbo Trans Am

I was in the same shoes a little over 3 years ago when I started with the controller.. And to my knowledge I make the only plug-n-play TTA kit.

If you want to be different, thats ok. Keep us posted as to your results.

Just curious why you think the rest of the kit is cheap? Our stage III controller kit has stainless steel/teflon hose, stainless steel re-usable connectors, brass wate filter, 1 gallon tank and float switch.

Im just curious what part of that is cheap to you? Our stage II kit comes with nylon hose and I agree that some people like upgraded hose, thats why we have the stainless steel/teflon.

So please clarify, our kits are all top notch quality and want to make sure you understand what our kits have.

Thanks!

I didn't see the stage 3 parts list--guess I only noticed the "CHEAP" plastic lines in the kit I looked at

Hi Razor,
I went back to the track last night and took enough fuel out to only operate at 70% DC (with the stock injectors). That put me at around 11:1 AFR. Boost was set at nearly 24 lbs and timing at 25 degrees. My new best was a 12.43 @ 107 with only a 1.85 sixty foot. One of my first passes last night resulted in a 1.77 sixty foot, but that was with a much more conservative tune. This was with a completey stock 166K long block with stock 166K timing chain and 166K valvesprings. I'll be cracking the seal on the engine in a couple of weeks and intalling a new cam/ported heads/turbo combination. Thanks for the offer to look at my datalogs. I'll take you up on that pretty soon. Thanks.
