New to Austin area

Not a huge change in location, but I started a new job in Austin on Aug 4th and finally am bringing my car to Austin and thought I would see how many Austin/RR/San Antonio members are lurking around in here. Gonna be needing a bit of help with an engine build in the coming weeks and could use some information on Buick builders in the area and such.

Hey Jeff. I had my engine done by Brian Beck and so have a few others. He was rebuilding vintage motorcycles last I heard from him, so engines were a side project. It took him quite awhile with mine. You can't beat Disco Stu (John) on this board. He is in Bryan, Tx (1.5 hours from Austin). His car runs consistent 9s and I know he has been working on some strokers.

Sweet. I just leased a home in Leander. You would't happen to work off Parmer at Sun Microsystems would you? I've noticed a GN parked there a couple times when passing by (always got my eyes open for Turbo Buicks)

Tell me about it. Its a stroker or a LS1, LS2 transplant :biggrin: Hell I was even eyeing that L67 transplant....

We should all plan a get togther when it cools off. What does eveyone think??

If my job allows I'd love to meet some of you guys. I'm apparently surrounded by guys in Mustangs and Corvettes in Leander...quite a few of them in fact. I'd love to see some fast cars:biggrin:
My T/A is no slouch but even being a 12 second LT1...I LOVE the sound and the feel of the torque of my little V6 when the turbo spools up. Once I get this move finished and get situated I am planning to resume the 4.1 roller build I was doing in Dallas and hopefully at the end of it will have a high 10 second daily driver GN to prowl on the unsuspecting local crowd with:biggrin:

Yes, I am still alive. I just hang my hat at a different place. There is a small group that hangs out at 1431 and 183 in the Office Depot parking lot. Does anyone want to meet their this Sat. Let me know and I will be there.

rather late I know, but I stumbled across a white T-Type or Turbo T at Costco today and just wondering if it was anyones in here? Had a few battle scars on it suggesting it is a heavily used daily driver..but I think its the second time I've seen it in the last 2 weeks (last time I saw a white T down here was off 183 and Burnet at a shopping/strip center).
