Hello all, I'm a newbie with the Turbo Regal's. I have always wanted a Grand National but stumbled across an 87 T-type tonight after dinner. Car has 123k on it, immaculate shape for the year and miles, the interior is like new along with the engine bay being clean. I was curious on what to really look for on these car's. The seller has only had it for one month as he said he only needs one toy car, tad weird but oh well. He said the previous owner installed a bigger turbo and 30lb injector's. I noticed it had a MAF translator in the engine bay. The rest appeared stock, the gauges all seem to work fine, the a/c blows cold, no obvious leaks, no abnormal engine noises and the car is really tight along with good braking. It has had a re-paint and paint looks a little thin in some places but not a huge deal. Can't remember for sure (long day) but I believe he was asking for 8k or 9k, I know big difference, but is either one an average price for one of these? I did notice a little oil residue on the intake manifold, but nothing appeared too fresh. Not sure what would have caused that. Car is very nice though and I am very tempted to buy it, but just don't know diddly squat about these car's so please bare with me

Thanks!

I would check the cars that sold on E-bay, and also see what people are asking in the cars for sale thread here on turbobuick.com. If the A/C blows cold then he (or the prior owner) probably enjoys the car and has taken care of it as that is something that is expensive to repair. Might have just received a quick charge to help sell the car though. Check it for rust under doors and all under the car. Some surface rust is probably normal. Should chirp the tires going in second gear. Carfax might help too. There is a thread here for that, some people will check it for free for you. How are the tires? Exhaust? Sounds like a fair price for one in good shape. What color is it?

if hes had it for 1 month and asking 8 to 9K, he prolly bought it for 6K and looking to flip it

Does it have a scanmaster at the very least inside the car? aftermarket boost gauge?

Thank you for the reply's.

Exhaust sounds healthy, I only got on the throttle from a roll so didn't really see if would chirp 2nd. GN wheels with newish tires (factory size) I'm about to go look at it agian so I will write down the VIN this time so I can run a carfax. Is there anyone local in the D/FW metro area?

Car does not have a scanmaster or analog boost gauge, just a fuel pressure gauge on the engine.

I did not see the carfax thread, so could anyone with an account run this vin?

Thank you in advance
