Hey Everyone,
New to the forum, I purchased an 87Grand National from my friends family. It was one of the Fathers vehicles and he was very trick in allot of things he had done. I dont have much information about the vehicle other than the receipts that were given to me and the old kenne bell catalogs that had some of the old mans circling of components. He didnt convey much information as to what was done to the vehicle to the sons before his passing.
So I am keeping a log book and writing everything I can find about the vehicle. Quite a bit of the work was custom and just how Phil would have wanted it done. To give an idea the alky injection Phil put into the GN is a seperate small torpedo tank located near the fuel vapor canister and is tied into the vapor canister as the vent for the alky tank.
Phil bought the car in 98, and from then up until he passed away he only put 4k miles on the car. During those 4k miles he had the motor rebuilt at Reids automotive and the motor has only 750miles on it since rebuilt. The GN has full on Hotchkis suspension and handles like a rail. The tires are connected to 17" torque thrusts and the tires are Nitto drag radials (sorry dont have the sizes written down). The brakes of the GN are the Baer brake package front and back and the rotors and calipers just fit inside the rims.
I am still trying to determine te actual output of the motor. I can only assume and would be cool if you guys could make a decent estimation based upon what I do know of the internals and the setup.
Motor
0.020 over bored Je Pistons
Comp Cam pn# 69-248-4
Alky injection (Phil used 70percent Rubbing Alcohol)
Ultra Chip V3.02
Stock exhaust manifolds,
Stock Turbo running 20lbs of boost based on #3 setting from Ultra Chip
3" downpipe from Cotton Performance (boost Controler cant remember offhand)
Adjustable Boost pressure regulator
Ta Pitbull exhaust with electric cutout.
42.5lb injectors (speculation would need to pull one)
Stock intake and throttle body
Adjustable fuel pressure regulator
Walbro fuel pump not sure of size since the sons arent sure and no receipt for it.
Thanks again guys and glad to be behind the wheel of a Buick again.
