hey all... first of all my name is david and i would like to say hello to all in the crazy world of turbo buicks... i own an 84 GN and an 84 T-type so both are hot air and relatively stock. i live in seattle and was wondering where would be the best place to take my buicks to get serviced. (i dont just want anyone dinkin around with my toys)...

Welcome! Cant give any info on that im at the other end of the mud ball.

Welcome David! Always nice to see another Buick guy turn up..
I think most of the NW guys do their own wrenching. I would recommend that you read EVERYTHING on the website that you can. Ask questions, etc. And try to make it to Turbo Thunder. It's a great opportunity to meet people from the NW! -Steve (Greenwood/Northgate area)

thanks steve for responding... thats what ive been doing for the most part... i was just wondering if there was anyone special in this area.. it seems to me that everyone and everywhere back east has a place to take their turbo regal.

I can highly recommend Speedway Automotive in Everett. Dan is the wrencher and he was the first of anyone that wrenched on my Buick since I bought it new in '87. Meaning I had the motor(s) built elsewhere, but I installed it(them). Had the trans in and out more times than I can count, but always did it myself. I've never had to leave the car with anyone to work on it. I was in a pinch for time last summer and needed my head gaskets done. Dan did an excellent job with Gene Fleury providing tech input and some head work. Dan is fastidious and kept the car protected at all times. Was done when Dan said he would be and it cost what he said it would. Give 'em a call. (425) 290-9075‎.

thats exactly what i needed to hear.. i dont just trust anyone... that makes me have confidence.. thanks alot

Another voucher for Dan (Speedway Automotive Repair) Good guy. I'm still better than HE is, but all in all a good guy to deal with. (I'm still better than you Dan.;) ) (just an inside joke, guys....:p ) Let him work on your car. (I have worked with him a time or two and that is what we would say to each other ALL day.)
He Ain't No "Parts Hucker!" That's for sure! If your car doesn't NEED it, he WON'T install it. (or try to get you to buy it!)

"I" would try to get you to buy a '86-87 Turbo Buick. I always end up BURNING my hand on that turbo....I mean WHO thought of installing it ON TOP of the engine, where the throttle body is supposed to be? I usually place my hand on the TB of an intercooled car when I lean over the engine to support my lower back. Do that on a running 84-85, and you are going to be HURT! I have litterally done that 3-4 times. Slow learner I am. (still better than Dan, though.:D ("He'll say I know....he IS better....but I am the BEST!):D

Good guy, REALLY! I learned ALOT from him.

Tranny work? Dave Splett. Couldn't find a nicer guy, even if you lived in the North Pole. ;) (Dave's Trans Service in Lynnwood 425-774-4966)

thank you again.. its awsome to have people with knowledge.. and tell me about it!! (hot air) everytime me and my dad try to check the tranny fluid we end up burning our hands right off our wrist... and hey i would love to get an intercooled turbo regal but i dont have the money yet.. but remember i said "yet"... i will have an intercooled one soon.. just a matter of time and money.. haha.. the little green thing that rules the world.

.... the little green thing that rules the world.

Not, if a certain group of folks gets their way. They want it to be an international currency. You better HOPE that green stays green. Or multi color in Canada. By the way, who came up with the Canadian nickel? The Queen on one side........and a BEAVER on the other?:D

hahaha canadians.. sorry nothing against them. and i do hope that little green stuff stays green!
