hey guys/gals...i will be picking up a 87 gn soon, the problem is that the car has not been started in like 2-3 years and was not properly stored (but was inside a garage). i wanted to know if i should have the car sent to a specialty shop like dynotech in nj (where all the work was originally done) or should i take it to a regular mechanic that i know. any info is greatly appreciated....

DYNOTECH

Bring it to Eric or Jimmy. Two years is not too bad if the car had no problems. Change the engine oil. Disconnect the orange wire (ECM) and prime it good. Then start it up.

the only problem that i knew of was that the boost gauge did not work (turbo did work though). i'm on a tight budget, so i don't want to pay a arm and an leg. did you ever go to the car meets by nathans on long beach road? (i also have a contour svt - don't laugh) i live in whitestone, near mcdonalds on francis lewis boulevard.....

I keep my car near you, only 3 buicks i know of in the area, one was a nice guy who i met @ Bellmore 2 years ago, and the other has is named Steve (i am pretty sure) and the last one is mine

shoot me an e-mail with your # or i will send you mine..... we can talk

will e-mail you tonight

does your new car have GTA rims and white stickers on the rear window?

i don't have it yet...i don't remember the company of th wheels, but they are five-star. the only stickers that i can remember it having are dynotech....look forward to speaking with you you....oh and joining the "Queens chapter "eventually (once the car is on the road again)....

Rons Custom Auto is another option, he is in Kenilworth, N.J. not a far ride, about 20 minutes off the Goethals bridge. Jack Merkel engines is also located in the same shop. just happen to be bringing my car there tomorrow for some work.

cool...thanks for the heads up. i'll have to wait and see till the car is signed over...

I'm in Stirling, NJ. about 25 min from both Ron's and Dynotech. I called up Ron's looking for a Direct Scan unit, since he had none on hand he sold me his personal one used at a fair price. So he's cool in my book. Eric at Dynotech built my Trans and I love it, So I have nothing bad to say about either one. Good Luck.
