newb question

installing new turbo and hd wastegate on my 87 gn, my question is how do you set the wastegate rod for the first time, right now i just turned it out enough where the puck is closed on the downpipe, i have not had it running yet. should i push the rod in all the way and then hook it to the puck with it closed?

Start out with about 1/8" of tension, in other words shorten the rod so you have to pull it about 1/8" to get on to the wastegate arm and adjust it from there if you have to.
