I have a question about how to adjust the boost levels in a 87 GN. Someone once told me you have to buy a acurator or whatever because the boost levels are not adjustable on the GNs... for some reason i doubt this. Someone also told me that you could make the wastgate adjustable for only a few bucks... is the wastegate what regulates boost levels?? Is there anyway you can adjust the boost from the interior?? Perhaps a kit you can buy. I'm picking up my GN in 8 more days so.... I just wanna know everything.

That is correct. A stock TR does not have adjustable boost levels. You can easily convert your wastegate rod to an adjustable type or build a bleeder valve setup for in car adjustments.

Most of this info is on www.gnttype.org.

BTW, before you mess with boost levels, you need a good fuel pump, adjustable pressure regulator and a fuel pressure gauge. A scan tool would be next after that.

The boost is upped by making the wastegate rod adjustable and you can also increase boost with a boost controller but before you start messing with the boost read past post and www.gnttype.org to see what you need to do before upping the boost. Read - learn - then do.

eya guys i know all about the fuel system, pressure, octane...etc etc... i simply was confused on how you guys increased the boost levels. Of course I'm going to do lots of mods and tuning with the direct scan i already bought!!! What exactly does a boost controler do?? Why would u need one if you adjust your boost level to the disireable level??
