hi all. i'm a newbie to the gn scene.....just bought a 87 gn. what is be the best bang for the buck mod? it already has a nice exhaust system, pitbull chip, trans cooler and a ram air. what should i address next? thx

First, check with the person you bought the car from and see what has been done for sure. If you have listed everything, Fuel pump with hot wire kit, adjustable fuel pressure regulator and scan tool to cover the basics. Once you have that done, go to www.gnttype.org and look at the recipe listings for heavier duty mods. Just depends on how fast you want to and can afford to go.

That pit bull chip has a lot of timing, I think 26*
Inless you want to run 12 or 13 psi of boost on the street , Get a more streetable chip. Just my 0.2!

Oh, and Welcome
:)

Yeah I would lose that chip. Get Testa or RA to burn you one for your combo. Then alky is going to be the best bang for the buck by far.

thanks guys. i think i gonna replace the chip first. what about the injectors? i spoke w/ the previous owner and he said the fuel pump has been replaced. i'd like to get it somewhere in the mid 12's.........is this possible and keep it reliable?

Absolutely, with alky and the right chip. And yeah you may want to think about stepping up to some 009 injectors or maybe some 50's. Dont get a chip until you decide about the injectors though. Injectors determine a lot in terms of how the chip is programmed. Good luck, and welcome to the Darkside!!
