Yesterday on the West side of Chicago, a Field Training Officer and his Probationary Police Officer stopped a guy who produced and pointed a handgun at them and was shot and killed. Thats pretty much all the info that has been given thanks to the Community being heard thru the Media about how Police involved shootings are covered up and that the Police never give enough information after these incidents. Well yesterdays shooting was handled by the newly implemented process where the Police have turned over the investigation and the release of that information to the organization formerly known as the Office of Professional Standards. The information is now slower than ever to be released and one of the reporters on Channel 7 actually took a shot at the new Director stating something like "She's from L.A., she does not know what to do". The news was also quick to point out that The Probationary Police Officer has very little street time implying that the shooting was "bad". A very small part of the story provided info on the dead guys background. Would U believe he is a convicted Felonserving time in a wisconsin prison for Armed Robbery and numerous other offenses? But of course he was now reformed and a role model/mentor in the community. Do role models carry handguns when its against the law? Give me a break. I think the Media should have picked a different scumbag to use as there chance to cry about the lack of information in a matter like this. Ahhh the thug life---its a wonderful thing! I cant wait to meet that PPO. He/she did a great job and has my respect even if he or she has very little time on the job. OK IM GONNA TAKE MY MEDICATION NOW:biggrin:
