Hello everyone. I'm now the proud owner of a 87 turbo T that I got from my dad (kellyd). He had it for sale on here a while back. Here is a list of the mods it has so far,
Fuel enhancements (Pump, wiring, regulator, Boost a Pump)
Air Intake mods
Breathers
Hooker exhaust
Gutted Cat
Welded manifold
Vacuum brakes with two check valves
Big rear brakes
Snubber
Air Bag
Brute strength U-joints, balanced shaft
Drive shaft loop
New rear shocks
Gauges (boost, knock, scanmaster, oil, fuel pressure)
Front braces
New timing chain, front cover, oil pump, etc
New cam sensor
TE 44 TURBO
009s Injectors
Big Neck intercooler
Alcohol injection
Turbo Tweak Chip
Line lock
RJC Boost valve
New valve springs
RJC power plate
Biggie oil filter, Baldwin B9
New headliner
New door hinges
The car ran a 12.70 with the old turbo and injectors, so I am guessing it should be a couple tenths quicker now. Question is what mods should I do next. I was thinking it was about time for a downpipe, but I heard not to get the ones from postons or kirban, any advise? Also a set of slicks would probably help out a lot. Anything else I am missing? thanks

I would think you should just tune it.It should run way better than a 12.70.I would think it should easily run in the 11s.It seems like the mod list is pretty good.Slicks or drag radials will help alot.

Nice list of mods, like you said I would get a 3" downpipe next, a set of slicks or drag radials and tune that combo in.

Okay so with the downpipe I want to get one that replaces the stock elbow as well right? where is the best place to get one? thanks

BuickGN he is a vendor here or
I might be interested in selling my used Terry Houston 3" DP

where are you located? I'd be willing to trade plus cash for my 3''Turboregalcustoms dp and testpipe w/dump for your stock dp and cat plus cash. if not, then yes you want a downpipe that replaces the elbow. Had the 2-piece on my car before the one I have on now and it was a big difference. either way, good luck on what you get. with those mods I'd suggest getting a fresh TT alky chip(i see you have one now) and some drag radials. 11's should be no problem with what you have now.
pm me if you are interested in the dp.

whats your tune maybe we could help you with what you already have. 60's and boost and timing and your 02's at wot. i had a stock set up that ran 12.98 at 104 with pump gas and 94 octane. i think you need a good tune and you will be in the mid to high 11's

I just bought a 3" DP from Nick at ArizonaGN.com. It's a complete pipe that replaces the elbow, and includes a test pipe for the cat. The install was very straight forward. Took me about 1/2 hour, but I have a lift so I didn't have to take the original pipe out the top or disconnect the Cat. Without a lift you could probably do it in 45 mins to and hour.

FWIW, this pipe made a HUGE difference on my otherwise 100% stock GNX. Spool was WAY quicker, boost went up by about 1psi, and the car simply accelerated faster across-the-board. Using my Racelogic P-Box as a measuring tool, I picked up over 3mph in the 1/4 mile, and dropped 2 tenths too. It was a significant change in the entire dynamic of how the car runs.
