nitrous bottle valve

Is it bad to leave the valve on the bottle open all the time? Ideally I would get a remote bottle opener so I can open it from the cockpit, but that is expensive. I want to have the nitrous available whenever I arm the system if I'm on the street.

I run my on when ever I leave the house, but I do close it when park for anytime. Be sure to purge it when it has been on for a long time and not used. The main purpose for it to be shut off is when not using it, is so if you nitrous soleniod were to fail you don't have nitrous flowing into the engine and damaging it. You could lean it out and blow the motor or if it were to flow into the engine when it's not running and you were to start it and it backfired it could cause alot of damage.
