Nitrous is amazing

You would need an RPM window switch, a WOT micro switch, and a hobbs switch that is normally closed (might be able to wire one up that is normally open with a relay or something) and you would have to adjust the hobbs switch to your desired PSI turn off point.

I believe ZEX nitrous has a spool kit that does all this but it is like 850 dollars. Total waste of money if you ask me.

n2o

well my name says it all,now you got me thinking about it;) i just bumped up the jets on my 68,but im all motor on the gn and everyone ask"whens it getting juiced"i run it on all my cars ive had and with great results, but never on the gn...

one time on my vette the nitrous sylinoid stuck open and filled the cylinders, then once i hit the gas i blew off every vacuum line, blew apart the booster and twisted the throttle bodie and wasted a intake gasket and it sounded like a shotgun went off,not good, but i fixed it and installed a new sylinoid and went right back:biggrin:

post pics when you get a chance..

Nitrous helps but if you have the right size turbo and tuneup you can go plenty fast with gas.

not needed here

Ya I heard Joe's car when Dan drove by me in the pits on sat at BG,It sounded like it was down a cylinder or two.

Glad to see he got it fixed up quick and was back out in Columbus.
Nice to have spare parts on the shelf

Question. How much change is in the change holder?

I wouldnt mind doing this setup actually, maybe just a 50 shot from 1500-3000 rpms.

So, what controls this, the maft, or the direct scan? I have maxeffort, but I think thats totally different. I wouldnt go overboard with that stuff. As with most of us, we are 1 malfunction from disaster.

Thanks for the info, maybe I'll stick to spooling the old fashioned way until I have enough spare time to rig up a system like that.

Vader
the Maft GenII controls all of this. The Direct scan is just a scanning device that connects directly to the ECM.

My laptop crapped out on me so I haven't been able to use it as of late.

I don't know about doing a shot from as low as 1500.

I have talked to and read about about people doing it lower than the 3000 rpm lower limit that NOS states in their instructions, but not really any that low. The potential for an intake backfire increases the lower you go. Plus, your torque converter should stall well above 1500 rpm anyway, shouldn't be much to spool past that.

as an update, I just got back from driving around with my MT ET Drags, 28x10.5 slicks.

I think the 125 shot might be a little too much for the street. Even after a burnout, once 3000 rpm hits I send the slicks up in smoke for as long as I hold the pedal down. Granted, this was done on regular asphalt not a launch pad, and I was running the slicks at around 20 psi for street purposes.

Its kind of neat but I think I might step the shot down so I can actually use the power

That was the biggest issue with it on my car lol :D you know its bad when you cant actually tune the car because its spinning to much   ;)

Dan/Joe do not use NOS on the TSO car.

I've been pleased with the results of N2O on mine....been running it for awhile now

Oh I must be confused,When you said you knew a few guys running it and melting down.
I thought that was who you meant:confused:
Their motor didnt the same as mine when heard it.
I guess it doesnt matter how good the builder and tuner are,Sh!t happens.

So it sounded different than when you sprayed yours and blew yours up???

I understand with Ted and Dave you are probably just busting balls, but calling Joe a cheater?

Boy my car was a sad performer fur sure if I was using nitrous:rolleyes:

I just FIGURED if Ted knew someone was using it fur sure,It would be someone he was close to that would let him in on their little secret.

I wouldnt accuse Joe,But figured that was who Ted meant.

As far as blowing up,melting a single piston IMO doesnt constitue blowing up.
In the stage 2 world that is IMO a minor mishap.

Dan is one of the best engine builders out there, he would gain nothing from using NOS. Way too talented to even consider it. He has forgotten more then most people would ever know. i would never believe that to be true in a million years. That is straight out B U L L S H I T! I could bet my life on it.

I agree with you 100%,That was just my take on who Ted was talking about.
My motor and Joes motor where the only 2 I knew that were hurt.
And I know I didnt have nitrous on my car.I would need it to have rn as fast as dan did.

I'd put my life on it too, but considering who said it, he as accused others of using NOS when he has looked at the datalogs first hand and spent plenty of time around the car, so it comes to no surprise to me at all.

Well here is where the accusation started.
Care to share who you KNOW was using it and melted his motor?
But considering who made the statement above, most people are making
their own conclusion.
