No acceleration

I have purchase an 84 GN with 82,000 miles on the engine. It runs good with only a rough Idle when its still cold. It will reach high speeds without a problem, but it has almost no acceleration (Feels Like an escort). The car hadn't been driven in years but a Basic tune-up and safty has been performed on the engine. The turbo appears to be spooling up ok and shows boost so I don't believe it to be the problem. any assistance would be appreciated.

Do you have a stock boost gauge(junk, could read at 13# but could actually be runnning at 9#) or an aftermarket one. Have any exhaust leaks? Old gas? Or your cat could be plugged up.......if it still has the stock one. Any modifications done to the vehicle at all, if so could be your wastegate setting.

Definitely check the cat, been there and done that.
