yesterday i took out my charcoal canister to make more room for me to work around it b/c of my cold air setup. i took a screw and screwed it in the end of the vac. line and then tightened a hose clamp around the screw to keep it secure even though it probably doesnt need it b/c the check valve is still in place. my question is since i have a few other problems w/my car i cant tell if this has affected my idle or not. can the engine still pull vacuum past a check valve, screw and a hose clamp? and does the engine require a certain amount of vacuum to run right or is what i did just fine and wont affect anything?
