no comunication

After 9 months of sitting went to check out the program and I get this big red screen saying no communication the it says 23.
If I keep trying I get a code of 11,12,13,.

Sometimes the 2 red lites stay on but no w/b symbol.Then if I click on a box the fuel pump cycles on then I get a no communication box.
Any help out there.

Sometimes the serial port gets disabled in the computers bios, when the battery goes bad in the laptop. You can usually check it upon startup by pressing f1, but each laptop is different. Are you using dos? Is the ecm getting power? Save your gct files and reinstall the software if all esle fails.

The car runs and everything it just won`t communicate.
It is an older ecu and is in dos.

Sounds like the serial port is disabled, or has been hi-jacked by windows to run something else. Right CLick my computer, properties, device manager, then ports, then com 1 ,then properties. Then tell me what it says there for resources. and interupt request.
