You know, you guys are the best!
As written above,I was getting 12V at the switch (the upper one with the vacuum hose, not the one that ops the brake lights) above the brake pedal, but got nothing down at the tranny. Suspected that switch, checked it with an ohm-meter and got an intermittent audible beep from it when working the plunger.
I took that switch apart,(lost the spring for 15mins),cleaned the contacts, and reinstalled. 12V showed on the tranny. Looks like it's fixed!
Test-drive an hour ago: The TCC works. It works in 3rd and 4th just like my fwd GM cars. (2-'87s and 2-'90s) I wonder how long it has been inop, and the prev owner never noticed.
Looks like I'll have to install a switch in that circuit to keep the TCC from operating when I see someone is hunting me down.
I now can see how there will be a definate perf loss/lag when nailing it when the TCC is locked-up. It's gonna have to unlock...then engine rev...then boost build. I've been driving along at 55-60 at 3,000rpms and ready to go!
Thanks again.
Now onto the next project's:
1) That Powerlogger that just arrived. I haven't opened the box yet.
2) Body bushings. Hard ride with fenders floppin'! (no rust)
Steve. '87 GN. t-tops. Mostly stock. An 8 1/2 out of 10.
