Hey all! My 87 type has been sitting for 2 years. Ran all fuel out when I parked it. When I first went to light it up, I could here pump running but no pressure to rail. Went thru all checks on another site and everything electrical was working, including test wire by alternator.went to disconnect battery with key on and call it a day when fan relays chattered and suddenly I had fuel pressure. Car started right up and ran rough at first but settled down and ran fine, about 40# indicated. Went back next day and no fp but pump is running. I even bypassed relay at back and ran straight to pump but still no fp. It's a walbro pump I installed 3 years ago with a hotwire kit. Possibility pump is just bad even tho it runs? I can't think of anything else to check for, and filter is new. Thanks in advance and this site rocks!

It's possible the pump is bad but just in case drop the tank down and 1) check the wiring, and 2) check the little hose that connects the pump to the line in the tank.

Thanks, will do. Found a hangar issue last time I was in there, so am waiting for new one from Racetronix.

Little hose in pump was wasted. I have a spare pump too now. Thanks for the advice!

Just had a feeling that was the issue.;) Glad to hear it was a simple fix. Next time you can get the hose from most parts stores but make sure it's fuel injection line. Shouldn't cost more than a couple of bucks that way.

For in tank use need to use SAE J30R10 hose. The other types of hose are not designed to be submerged in fuel. The inner lining is OK for fuel, but the outer casing is not.

However, I've also been reading reports on others forums that even this spec hose isn't always holding up. Been thinking that maybe use PTFE lined SS braided hose. Skip the AN hose ends and just worm-gear clamp it is place.

Thanks for the info. If it happens again may need to do something like that as walbro pump was new 4 years ago and used the hose supplied with it.
