Just started gettin my 87 back to runnin and turn the key on and the pump kicks on but no pressure.... drop the tank and the pump isnt pumpin anymore... messed with it a bit and now i just made it worse... now with the key on the pump wont run at all... no power to the back there... but if i jump the wire in the engine bay it will run... i checked the fuse , FP/inj one but it seems ok... any clue to what this prob is???

thanks
jeremy

Did you test the fuse electrically(continuity tester, ohmeter, etc.)? They can look good, but be open. It could be the relay, but that should be bypassed by the oil pressure switch when your oil pressure reaches 4 PSI(takes a few seconds of cranking the engine). That won't happen by just turning the ignition to, "ON". Are you turning the ignition ON, and then trying to test for voltage at the pump? If the engine doesn't actually start/run, the ECM shuts the pump down after a few seconds.

Also does this GN have a hotwire kit on it? If it does check that fuse, and check that relay for the hotwire kit, I had one go bad not long ago.

no hotwire kit yet... i was turning the key on and off several times during this.... hot wire kit is on the way with the pump tho... will the hot wire kit solve the problem either way? unless of course the fuse which i am going to replace
