When I go WOT the car will hit a flat spot on the top end and not shift from 1st to 2nd unless I let off the throttle some.

2nd to 3rd is OK.

However, at less than WOT, the shifts are more firm than at WOT.

Does this mean my TV cable is too tight?

Are you sure the band isnt smoked? Do you notice any slippage under light throttle, moderate loads. Like less than half throttle around 15psi boost on a 1-2 shift? If so id say your band and drum are burned. If the tv was off then it would suck at all throttle angles and be even worse under high load light throttle. If the TV is too tight it will self adjust. You should be able to hit WOT withthe cable adjusted properly.

I'm in agreement with Blazer406/Bison on this one. My gear box does this on the 2nd to 3rd shift. Now I'm noticing issues staying in over drive on the hwy and jurking motion cruising around in 3rd. It's like it's low on fluid but the box is full...probaly low pump pressure in my case. At any rate, your box may not be with us much longer.

I am not sure about the guy in Ga.... but there are several people here that come up regularly as being in the "great" category. For the money IMHO everybody loves Brian screenname "brian". I have probably seen a dozen or more posts on the board praising his rebuilt trannys... and they are reasonable too.

I have also seen plenty of posts on CKPerformance. He has a great manual too. His name is Chris.

I have seen good stuff about Bruce "WE4" here on the boards.

Vince Janis or Len Freeman also regularly come up with praise....

Don't be scared......you can get it shipped......I don't even think Brian charges a core charge.....his is just an outright price....
