I replaced my 84 ign. module with an 85 module without the pigtail that repins it. This burned up the module. Since then I replaced the module,coil,computornT.D.C. sensorand the limp mode module all with no sucess still no spark. Any other suggestions.

Your crankshaft position sensor is a hall effect sensor and it has three wires, one is a 5 volt reference from the ecm, the other is a reference ground from the ecm, and the third is the signal wire that tells the ecm when to fire the coils. Make sure that you have a 5 volts going to your sensor.

This is not correct. The sensors, both crank and cam, run on 12 volts, not from the ECM but fromt he CCCI module. The ECM does not interface with either sensor directly.

No spark after a catastrophe is usually due to a fuse being out. Check both fuses that relate to the CCCI. And, BE SURE you have the wiring correct. The 84 crank wiring color code is different than the 87, where somehow GM swapped two of the three wires.

good to know! thanks John.

I am sorry for the bad information, I was trying to help based on my memory and that is not a good idea. John is correct. Anyway, I thought I would put the wiring diagram up for an 84'. If you need a diagram for an 86-87 let me know.

I could use one for the 86-87! Thanks or email it to firebird383@charter.net larger than the posted pic I am blind and can't see that one well!
