My 87 GN just stopped. I was driving and the car just stalled no warning at all. I have confirmed that there is no spark. I'm thinking the coil pack but is there anything I should check before replacing it and how do I confrim the the one in the car is bad.
Thanks

Pop the oil fill cap off and see if the rockers are rocking while cranking.

The rockers are rocking. The CCCI fuse is good. I cheched the ohms on the coil pack and from to passenger side to the drivers side its 0, 0, 37.2. I thought this was wrong but I checked it twice several hours apart. Any more sugestions or should i order a new one?
Thanks,
Greg

pop the cap off the cam sensor and see if he relucter wheel is secure.

FYI, if you have a circuit tester that uses an LED to indicate a live circuit, you can use it as a makshift noid light. Put the pointy probe on one side of the injector connector and secure a piece of wire to the alligator clip and stick it in the other side of the connector. If you have the kind that has voltmeter type probes, even better. Should have an LED since an incandescent bulb doesn't really cycle on/off quickly enough to see the injector pulses.

This may be a stupid question but will taking the cap off mess anything else up or is there way to put it back together?

It comes right off with a couple of Phillips screws. It's tabbed so it can go right back in the same place.

Wrong readings....

Is your check engine light coming on when you turned the car on. After it stalled did it start back up afterwards?

Check ccci fuse. If that's good go for the crank sensor.

I'm with this guy. And check it good to make sure the magnet in the sensor is still there. I once found one stuck to the balancer, but the sensor was in place.

I popped the cap off and the wheel is clean and secure. I have attached a picture. Everything seems to be ok.

From the looks of the corrosion on that cam sensor, I think I'd be pulling all electrical connections apart, and doing a cleaning.
While the cap is off, spin the engine over. Is the wheel turning?
If not, it's either the gear retainer pin is sheared, or the timing chain has broken.

This is going "sideways" really fast.;)
A suggestion: Find someone that's familiar w/ these cars, and pay them a visit.
