for the last 2 weeks or better I have been dealing with a no start issue with my 84 GN. I have changed the coil, alternator, plugs, and charged the battery. when I try to start the car it cranks like its wanting to start, then will hesitate and act like it wants to backfire, when you stop cranking and try it again, it seems like the battery is low and it drags when it cranks. its getting fuel because the old plugs that came out were just a little bit wet on the tip. the car is in a garage and cannot be gotten out without driving it out. I have under 6 weeks to go before a very big show that I'm entering it in, so any help would be greatly, greatly appreciated.

Hi,
A little more information would be nice. Does the motor freewheel sometimes? If so, check the timing chain. If not, what fuel system are you using? I guess it could be a crank sensor problem, doesn't sound typical, though. I guess also an ignition module might freak out like this. More info, please.

The fuel system is stock. it cranks normally, no freewheeling. my thoughts are either the module or something in the computer. the car started fine a few weeks ago when I had it running just so it wouldn't sit all winter without being started. I have a disconnect switch on the battery so that it will not sit around and drain.
