Hi,
New here to the site, but have owned my '84 GN since 1992. I took the car to the GM dealer last week to have the water pump changed. Since I got the car back, I have no tach or turbo boost gauge. I have checked all the plug-ins around the coil pack area and checked all the fuses in the block under the dash. What could be the problem? Both worked just fine when I took it in. The first bar on the tach (orange) is the only thing that lights up. When I start the car, a couple bars on the turbo boost gauge light momentarily, then nothing after that. Not that this is related, but I also noticed that when I have the emergency brake on, the light on the dash does not light up (did before). I checked the bulb, its okay. Any ideas guys? Thanks!

im not sure where the pick-up is for the tach... i thought there was a small green wireon the front of the engine... if they just changed your water pump, they shouldnt have removed your battery or anything of major consequence that would cause the failure... Chances are there is a bad connector/pickup, or the dash itsself is showing its age... Im not too sure tho.... real weird that it happend when they worked on the motor...

make sure the fuel pump and tach test leads are not pluged in together behind the alt/drivers valve cover.....common issue.....
the tack is a white wire(s) with a green plug.the fp test wire is grey with a black plug these are not supposed to be pluged in together.....but they are the same plug (one male/other female)...
