is it hard to install a non l/c solenoid in the trans.? is this something a shop has to do, or is it something i can handle? or is it a plug on the side of the trans.? i'll be switching to a 10'' non locking converter next week and would like to know what i mite be gitting into  thanks Terry

You need to replace the valve that controls the lockup circiut in the pump body. It can be done from under the car farily easily. You need a set of small internal snap ring pliers and some patience and a tolerance for ATF dripping on you.

an easy to install kit is available thru us but you need to remove the trans from the vehicle to remove the oring off the input shaft.also will need to replace the pan gasket when changing valve.be sure to leave the pressure switches connected to the case as well. this will allow the ecm to know the operating ratio of the trans for ecm input.
