Non Oxygenated Gasoline

Hi, I was curious a station by my house began carrying premium non oxygenated gasoline. Would this be better to use i my GN, If so why. And how much of a difference would it make compared to standard premium. Any advce is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

no on the sign it sas non oxugenated fuel ten warning only to be used in calssc automobiles, atv, snowmobiles, lawn equiptment, etc.

It means non-ethanol.... Go with the non. Wish I had it around here.

Oxygenated fuels are fuels that have been diluted with a hydrocarbon containing an oxygen molecule. Ethanol (CH3-CH2-O-H) and Methyl Tertiary Butyl Ether (MTBE) ((CH3)3-C-O-CH3) are examples of "oxygenated" hydrocarbons.

The theory is that when added to gasoline, they raise the level of oxygen within the gasoline. I believe that those who advocate using the oxygenate claim that it reduces carbon monoxide emissions. Unfortunately, the up to 10 percent oxygenates that dilute the fuel basically have little energy value relative to that of gasoline and probably increase the carbon dioxide output of a motor vehicle per mile without contributing much to is motion. I have observed that my car gets 5 to 10 percent fewer miles out of a tank of oxygenated gas than a tank of non-oxygenated gas.
