Noob question about engine cleaning

I just got a used intake/T.B./Turbo setup off a fellow member and I want to clean it up.Could I put the whole assembly in a parts washer to degrease it, or would that be a no-no??

Use some carburetor cleaner or some brake and parts cleaner and a small brush.

yeah, you can buy carb cleaner at auto zone that stuff works really good.

You can also try stuff like Castrol Superclean, Simple Green, Purple Power, etc.

Some cleaners are going to be more harsh on those items than others and may turn the finish "whitish".

It depends on what kind of finish you want to keep. Stuff like brake cleaner can be harsh on certain finishes.

thats trure, carb cleaner works really good but will be tough on the finish.
