Slowly sneaking up on the Alky install
got the tank and pump mounted now to run the nozzle.
with the way I want to run the line, the best place for me to put the nozzle is in the "out" pipe of the IC just below the connecting hose. Any forseeable problems with this?

Thanks
Scott

I would keep the nozzle higher than the level of the alcohol container, this will help prevent siphoning. Also if you use the McMaster nozzle, it has a check valve/spring built in that will also help with the siphoning issue.

That's not a problem, the tank & pump are mounted LOW.
other than that issue, no worries then?

Hey Scott......check Buickboosted.......I think that's his username. Sells the electric cutout. I'm pretty sure he put his nozzle where you'd like to put yours. On any of his posts he has a link of pics and information about his installation. Check it out! ;)

http://www.buickgn.com/alcoholinjectionsystem.htm Plenty of "meat" there to tap into vs the up pipe. I like it better down there. I DID have a siphoning problem as the nozzle was lower than my tank but I still think you might have a problem when the motor is under vacuum. I would have thought that the check valve in the shurflo pump would have prevented this but when I took the IC out to change to an aluminum crank pulley it had about a half cup of alcohol in it. I mounted an alky solenoid right before the IC to solve that problem once and for all. Absolutely necessary? I don't know but I didn't want to worry about it any more. Still wonder if those that have it mounted in the up pipe might suck alky in under high vacuum.
