I was looking at some 1/4" braided teflon hose and brass fittings today, and was trying to figure out which I should use... NPSM or JIC? The NPSM fittings seem to have a larger bore. Is it necessary ?

Thanks
Paul

You need to use fittings of the same family. Tho typically at the pressures we run, you can mix and match. You forgot SAE fittings as well.

Safer to use the same flare styles. Wont matter on flow. Not at your level.

Thanks Julio.
Still working on stuff and was looking at a matched pair of JIC's vs NPSM's and saw the bore size difference. If it doesn't matter flow wise, the cheapest cost wise wins.
I'll be talking too you soon.

Paul

Braided teflon can kink pretty easy in larger sizes. Id keep that in mind when laying out your plans.

Paul..just make triple sure theyre using brass for the fittings.. Cant tell you how many yellow colored steel fittings I've bought. Ohh BTW, I finally got pricing on the 2 gallon container.. call me when your ready.

Good point JayC..i'll remember that.

Thanks, Jay.
Still in the measuring/planning stage, so I'll keep that in mind when mapping out the hose route.

Got yah on the brass fittings, Julio. Thanks

Paul :)
