So ever since I installed my NVU instruments several years ago my oil pressure has read lower than actual. This has been verified with a known good mechanical gauge. The sender was a VDO type.

I decided to replace it with a NVU sender which looks a little different. What a PIA to get to with all the crap in the way. Anyway, installed and buttoned up. WTF It showed oil pressure pegged at 100 psi at idle! Rev the engine the pressure goes down. Shut the engine off. Turn the key on and the gauge is pegged at 100. The damned sender is backwards and is the one specified for my performance ll gauges.

Now I’m pissed at them.

May sound obvious, but take a look at the signal, ground, and power. May have them crossed.

If it had 2 terminals I'd do that. It only has one and is grounded through the body.

I had a similar experience. I sent mine back to NVU and they replaced it with a new one and that fixed the problem. I wonder if there was a batch of defective ones being sent out at the time?
