Yes, thanks for viewing. A few months ago, I had head work done on my engine. The engine had an oil leak(massive failure); therefore the engine was overhauled and the head was taken out and repaired/replaced. However, they only worked on the top of the engine. Recently, the car began to emit smoke again. Now, we seem to think that the O-rings need to be replaced because the the white smoke emitting from the exhaust smells of oil. The dealership is recommending not to worry about it...all GN smoke...and they declare there is no problem. But, I think we may to rebuild the short block, which would include replacing the O-rings.I am hopping someone can tell me something because we keep getting the run-around. In all over $7K has been spent getting this car fixed yet the problem was only temporarily solved by fixing the top of the engine...I am just hoping to break even on this car. It is very beautiful and other than the smoke (lol) still runs like and I quote the service manager "a dog hit with scalding hot water". But, I am just baffled and very frustrated because no one can give a definitive solution to the problem...thats why I came here....oh and the head gasket is fine....turbo is fine....any help would be appreciated..........and thanks for all the posts...I really appreciate everyone recommendations

Well it could be your rings... You should have a leakdown test done to verify the condition of your engine. In my opinion you should have someone experienced with Turbo Buicks look at your car, rather than a dealer. Plenty of guys in Georgia capable of fixing your car right.

In addition to the dealership, we have taken it to a Turbo Performance shop (which sold the the Turbo Charger) and he was very CLUELESS. He didn't really know the differences between a GNX and a GN....He was a real novice.....there is a GN race coming up here this weekend...we were thinking about taking it there......could you provide more info on on a leak test...
I GREATLY appreciate any and all advice you may have....

Bring it to Reynolds..there will be a bunch of us standing around looking dumb. :p Come up to the big ugly guys..one will probably be me. I am mostly rubbernecking this weekend but I will try to throw some tools in before I go including a compression gauge.

Turbo Shae, you should take Kendall up on that. What better place to learn more about these cars than a bonified Buick race....Sadly, I won't be making it to Reynolds this year Kendall. I'm right in the middle of my roll bar install and haven't been able to work on it much this past week. Sounds like there is gonna be quite a turnout though. Cya in Norwalk : )

Would you consider coming down to Bradenton, Florida for this Buick Race:

It appears this race is going to be a blast this year, and something that will be around in the future for buicks racers..:)

Thanks for all the help. We took the GN down to Reynolds and a very nice guy from AL is trying to diagnosis the problem...we are experiencing a lot of condensation emitting from the exhaust pipes and rich white smoke (smells more of gas now). We looked at the pipe leading to the Turbo Charger and it had a good amount of oil and water mix in it. Hopefully we can get some solutions to solve the problems....oh well....I saw some very fast GN and Mustangs tonight...one GN pulled in the eight range...very nice vehicles were there.....I just wish I could run my GN this weekend.....but to all those who are racing.....try to pull a G for me..just kidding...Kendall...if you are coming to the race and could take a look I would appreciate your assistance....just let me know if you are planning to set-up an exihibit....again thanks everyone
