Need some help.Went to the track today and had some poping coming out the dump .Drove to the track, took the dump plate off the terry h down pipe, ran 15 lbs boost on a te 45a(te63) at 40 fuel pressure and ran 13.1 at 109 smoking the hoosers(27.5X11.5 X15)Last week the same set up I ran 112 mh at 12.6.
So I turned the boost up one turn because the o2 were 860 in first and 830 in 2nd gear pull (this is when it started to pop because it's rich then it took a nose dive to 620. So I put the dump back on an ran it .It was slugish so up went the boost. It started to do that again at 18 -20 lb boost on 114 unleaded.I have the 009 with9.5 prec. vig. lockup C.A.S front mount,xp plus pump and hot wire kit.volt booster d.s scan(still learning to use it)and Red.A street and 107 chip.Went out and bought the translator Plus and today I think I need the 75lbs inj.
ANY IDEAS or am I missing something?
Thanks for the help

Hey mike, those injectors aren't big enough for that turbo. I don't know if you've done anything to the heads, but atleast 50# injectors for te63, atleast!

Tuneup??

At that boost level, I doubt you are running out of injectors. The clue to other than injectors being the problem, lies in the nosedive the O2's took at a relatively low boost level for that turbo. Going from .830 to.620 is a drastic change in A/F ratio. It would lead me to beleive that the fuel system is doing goofy things...
How much gas in the tank?
Do you know that the FP is keeping up w/ rise in boost??
You said that you have 2 of Red's chips.. Which one is in the car? If you have the street chip in there, it'll not be correct on the fueling for the boost levels you are seeing..
As for the "smoking tires" problem.. If you are smoking a slick and still running in the 109 mph range, there has to be alot you can do to get MUCH quicker, once the fuel thing is corrected.
Looking at the 112 run, there is a correlating set of "target numbers" we can look at to see where the improvements can be made.[These targets are a compilation of thousands of runs and from a computer generated chart. They have proven to be very accurate]
Here they are, in reverse order.
1/4- 112.2/11.75, 1/8-7.47, 330-4.76, 60-1.58...
[I don't use the 60' times exclusively to see how the car launches.. I look at the 330 too. At 60" there could be a gear change, boost still rising, some tire spin, suspension still reacting, etc, etc.]
A video is GREAT to see what's going on.!!
You can take these targets and then compare to your ET slips and see where the problem lie and TUNE TUNE TUNE!!
Have fun!!..

more info

stock sam and heads with 100 pound springs and the xp plus fuel pump, volt booster.terry houst.down pipe.1/2 tank of 114 gas.If I have the fuel pressure at around 820 to 830s in 1st it's list sluggish then it pulls the car very hard but then around 800 feet the o2 reading drop then I get off the gas.I launch the car at 7 to 8 pounds boost or what ever it can hold before it pushes me through the lights .:(

You could be right on running out of gas (not enough in tank) and that was at what? 18-20 # it started poping & low o2(630). If he decides to run over 20 (like most of us do when we RACE) I don't think 009's are going to cut it with a te63 and C.A.S. frontmount!(my opinion) So he has the wrong set-up already. That turbo/ intercooler is good for over 600 H.P. The injectors 43.5x6x2 is good for 522 H.P. He might and probably does have some kind of fuel problem, but when he decides to turn it up, he will need more fuel. (my opinion)

That was what I was trying to avoid by taking advice from one person and not buying things twice.I guess some things work on some cars and not on others.Buying and reading up all the gm high tec and calling garages that sell buick gofast parts .
Oh well
