I need to get an obd2 scanner. Anyone recommend one? See everything from $70 - $400 units. I know the cheap ones just read out the code and you look it up in a book or online. The more expensive ones read out the definition for you. Is there any other difference between them? I need to read out a code on my SUV but will use it in the future. Know I can get one online but would like to get one locally. Thanks for any advice.

I ended up buying an Inovva 3100. They have it at oreilys for $150 but I found them at the Exchange for $99.

That scanner will work fine. I have a little code reader that just gives me the code and then I go to mitchell unless I know the code. Anymore that that I fire up the Verus. The Verus just take to long to start up. now they have the Verus pro. snap-on sucks .Just when you are just about paid up they come out with a new scanner.Bastards
