Octane boost

Will the over the counter octane booster. ( 1 can per full tank of gas) give me the ability to run higher boost and reduce knock?
Or is the octane booster just junk?

I use Toulene.

Others on the board recommend zylene.

I think probably a lot of people will back me on this, over the counter octane booster isn't a true octane booster in the pure sense of the word. It's like adding water to your fuel, yes it keeps the cylinders from pre-detenating, but dosen't produce usable horsepower. Racing fuel on the other hand does produce usable horsepower, personally I can't afford alot of racing gas so I use Xylene. If you're curious do a search for Xylene or Toluene on this website. Also you may want to do the same search on www.gnttype.org. There is plenty of info floating around on the topic. - BB
