OD slippin?

every now and then when im on the highway with just enough throttle to keep my speed up, seems like the trans is slippin between 3rd and od, i do have a 3000 stall, and crusin down the highway im at like 2grand could that be an issue?

You may be looking at more of a converter going between lock up and un lock. Drive it on the freeway at speed and see if you slightly press the brake pedal if the surging stops. If so you are looking at something in lock up. Maybe just a bad TCC solenoid. Try it and let us know what happens.
