Gents,

Need some advice. Here are the issues I have:
* car has a off idle stumble. If i hit the throttle, it stumbles. Sometimes if I rev it, it wont come back to idle. It will stick @ like 1500 RPMs and I have to burp the throttle to get it to return to idle.
* BLMs are low. Usually around 115-119. All other scanmaster settings are good.
* once car is warm, it has trouble starting. Turns over real slow... like when timing is off or vapor lock. Once it starts, it smells like raw fuel.

I do hear a whistle from TB. Could bad TB shaft seals cause this much of a vacuum leak or do I have other issues?

Whats a little turn? Would a TB vacuum leak cause this as well? Also, just took my MAF off and there are no screens in it...
 
As long as the chip is set up for no screens you are ok. Red's chips are set up to run without screens.

Its a old PTE chip that I got with the turbo. tried to.talk to them about it but they done burn chips any longer.
 
I have a few Reds chips laying around if you want to try them. Did you car just start doing this? What have you changed on it lately.
 
Its been doing this since I finished it. Just getting old. Once its past that point, it runs good. do u have a chip for 50 lb injectors?

Don't have any screens to put back in.
 
I'll check and see how many I have. I should have at least one.

Thanks pal! Much appreciated! If not, I may just try to find another stock MAF or bit the bullet and go LT1 MAF with the translator.

Does it still sound like the timing is off when starting? If so that has nothing to do with the maf. That's usually means cam sensor is out of adjustment. You can turn it a little at a time until it starts nice.

Havent checked yet. I pulled off the TB and found that in fact, the shaft seals were completely gone. Sent to Steve Monroe. Still in process of trying to find MAF screens or possibly a new MAF. Once car is together, Even though the cam sensor is dead nuts on (using cam tool), I am going to advance it a little once I get it back together.

I will keep you posted. I am assuming that with it being hard to start after it @ operating temp, that the sensor is still not reading where it should. I know its not 180 out... it runs too well and runs smooth through the RPM range.
 
Really? I had a local guy looking for one but he hasnt gotten back to me. I am assuming they just pop in there and lock in some how. Posi lock tab or something. Never removed a screen(s) out of a MAF... consider it a problem in the making... :-( What would you want for the screen?
 
There is a plastic ring that keeps the screen in place. I have one of those too but it has a crack. It will still work.
