I just bought a PT54 that has some oil in compressor housing. The guy only pulled the turbo off to replace it with a 67. I was running fine. He didn't know it was leaking oil (He told me this before I bought it). The bearings are tight. Can I rebuild it since it looks like it only needs seals (no damage). Or should I just run it until I can afford a 70Q. This is the turbo I want in the end. The 54 is only a band aid for the time being.
My old 60 used to always had a drop of oil on the compressor housing. Jack Cotton said that was normal for some turbos. What do you think?

If the turbo has sat on its side with the comp. down, then you would get some oil in the housing this way. Does it look like it was puddled or blown inside of the housing?
