I took down my intercooler for a good cleaning and man was it dirty, I mean this thing had gunk build up all over it, but that has been taken car. The real question is should there really been any oil like around the inside of the intercoolers neckand around the throttle body, it just seemed to me that there was an excesive amount of oil that i think doesnt belong there.   help guys whats up with that:cool:

Usually it means turbo seals are bad...I said usually:D Pull the maf pipe/hose off and look in the inlet bell/turbo for signs of wet oil. HTH

You have to get rid of the valve cover breather pipe that runs from the pass side VC to the turbo inlet bell. This is where oil gets sucked into the IC.

You will need to purchase a valve cover breather set from one of the TB vendors of your choice. You will need the drivers and pass side breathers. Kirban performance carries both. https://www.kirbanperformance.com/index_turboregal.htm

Also check out the spring cleaning tips and other great info you may need at, http://www.gnttype.org/maint/basics.html

Have fun!:)

Yep, to what Tow Man and 6Pack said!
It very well could be a combination of both. If that's the original turbo, with no re-builds, then it is highly likely that the seals are leaking, (as they all do over time), and it is being accentuated by the original emissions setup that Tow Man mentioned.

By your recent questions on the board, I can only assume you are new to the TR community, and turbocharged vehicles in general?
You would probably greatly benefit from spending some time in the Tech archives and General information sections of this website, and www.gnttype.org. It has extremely good information and much of which is written for newcomers to be able to learn. It's a great tool, in that many of the TR veterans have shared their insight and wisdom for "what works" recipes, etc, etc, and you won't have to go through the long learning curve that many of us did.

Of course, this is not meant to disuade your questions here either. Keep 'em comin'...
