well i was looking at my car the other day when it was on the lift. im trying to track down where my oil leak is coming from. it looks as if its coming between the heads and the block. i cant trace it any farther up then that. can this be possible? im going to put some die in the system and take a look but i was wondering if this could be. im almost 99% sure its not coming from the back of the intake. also it looks as if its coming from both sides drivers and passengers side in the same area. i really hope i dont have to pull the motor again. Nick might be mad and i cant afford to spend any more money on it right now. i still have to chaces down my false knock issue (i hope its false) once i get the car back. next step with that is to put C16 in it turn the boost as low as it will go and see if it knocks. its getting to me. i pulled the wastegate rod off and it wont knock but as soon as i set it as low as possible on pump gas and low boost as low as it will go it will knock. stupid thing. i dont want to hurt the motor. dont know what to do.

I have an 85 t-type with the hot air motor and I have the same problem. I replaced my rear main thinking it was that but still kept leaking. So then I looked closer and it is coming out of the manifold. Do you really have to pull out the motor for that?

It's probably leaking at the intake manifold where it meets the block at the back. Try cleaning the area real well with a shop rag and solvent-degreaser or brakeKleen, then"smutch" silicone (the clear, sticky stuff works best) in there with your finger. Let that set overnight at least. It worked for me.

Boost231, I have the exact same problem. Did you solve the oil leak problem?

time to try and fix it. i think its the oil pan gasket

I had an Expedition that had an oil leak. It was still under warranty so I brought it into Ford and they said it was coming from the head gaskets. I could not believe it but they did the job and the leak stopped.
