oil pan gasket ?

I been having problems with the gasket. I have changed it about 3 times and it keeps on leking oil and a lot. Can any one give me step by steps on putting it on. Maybe I put it on wrong, bolt it down to much or not enough. I heared that they will expand once they are on, if this is truth, thats maybe my problem. Can only one help me out. Thanks.

Are you installing a neoprene or cork. When I have done it in the past, I use a cork gasket sprayed lightly on one side with spray adhesive. Attached sprayed side to pan let it set up for a little bit then installed on engine bottom. Tighten up back and fouth across pan. What ever you do DON'T over tighten it. 20 ft lbs. I think is right.
