Oil pump bypass

I was reading somewhere that it is good to plug the bypass in the oil pump to achive more pressure. Is this true? and if so what is the best way to do this?

The "bypass" in the pump is the relief valve.. DO NOT plug it.
The "bypass" referred to is the oil filter bypass. Some folks do this w/ a pipe plug.
