Oil Pump-front Cover Question??????

I have a new high volume front cover. the lower part that the filter spins onto has some scoring from my old unit where the bottom of the gears ride. can i use a spacer plate repair kit or do i have to get a new lower unit.

i am using the yellow spring with the h.v. front cover and need to know if i can use the spacer plate to give the new gears and good surface to ride on.

or can't i use a spacer plate with this cover?

you can... they call it a booster plate.
