Who has the best priming tool or how can I make one?

Got mine from TA Performance at the same time I ordered a bunch of other stuff.

I made mine. Worked like a charm. Took a solid steel rod about 1/4 in diameter and ground it two sides flat like a flat head screw driver. Then I took a piece of short round tube that barely fit over the oil pump shaft and left the rod I made about 1/8 inside the round tube. Then I took two washers and put inside the round tube to center it on the rod and just tacked it all together. Can post pics if needed but that's how I made mine.

You can also rent them at most autoparts stores, same as a small block chevy

That's what I used and then used an old cam sensor housing I took apart to align / center it all properly

If you have a old SBC distributor, cut the shaft off and put it in a drill and prime away

That's what I used and then used an old cam sensor housing I took apart to align / center it all properly

Mine in action ... can't find a picture of the 2 parts used at the moment ...

Just take the shaft out of an old distributor.

Just curious, what kind of oil pressure can you make when running the pump off the drill? I'd definitely like to find any leaks before I drop the engine back into the car.

With cold oil I always hit the relief pressure while priming.
