What tool do you guys use to prime a motor after rebuild:confused:Thanks

Kevin

Pack the pump with grease or do like I do. Pull cam sensor, get a long flathead driver bit and drill, turn oil pump shaft with drill until prime.

I found these,I would like to buy one that will work on other motors also

There's a tool for, basically a steel rod about 14" long, that one end seats on the oil pump shaft and the other you attach a drill motor. I think I got mine from Poston years ago, so I'm sure someone still has them.

EDIT: THE BOTTOM ONE. ;)

If you can't get ahold of one of the other tools, I used a very long 5/8" spade bit, that I chopped down to eliminate all the sharp bits, it worked WONDERFUL.

Rent a tool at local auto parts store. Pay for it, use it, return it and then get your money back.

Thanks for the opinions, took my old chev dist and machined the end to look like the one in the pic I used:biggrin:
